Adolescence is a time full of rapid physical and emotional change.  The adolescent brain is very dynamic, undergoing extensive remodeling.  Brain changes during this time are among the most important to occur during one’s life. These brain changes, known as plasticity, also make the brain more vulnerable to external stressors.

The ability to learn is at a peak during adolescence. Teaching adolescents how to manage their thoughts, emotions and impulses will profoundly shape the developing brain by laying the neural foundations that will serve them for the rest of their lives.
